Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician from Mexico was born into a music-loving family. Growing up, she listened to classical music, old boleros along with the traditional ballads of ranchero and romance. Ana is a lover of tangos and operas. She also loves dramatic performances. She was taught by her mother to sing, and she began more intensive vocal training with Flavio Belcerra at 16 when his name was known as a famous Mexican opera tenor. Music education was continued by the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and young professional, she sang with various chamber groups as well as opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. After 2000, she moved in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2007 she moved to her new home in Southern California. She sings as a soloist Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. The passion and love she has for arts, music as well as performing, keeps her active with a variety of local initiatives in the roles of teacher and performer. Ana is also a past part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a pleasure to have having the chance to share her passion and love for traditional Latin American songs with others and, in the process hopes to impart a desire, especially among younger generations for keeping the music alive and alive.Viva Mexico!
