Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. After the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington in Ohio and moved at Los Angeles. Even though she had financial difficulties and in the beginning, she made her acting debut acting as Rachel's Room's principal character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal as Murder in Greenwich of a 15-year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to be awarded. Grace appeared as Shannon Rutherford on the Lost TV show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal protagonist for two seasons and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to focus on the role of a greater part in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of the roles. Grace returned to the Lost series in the final two episodes, playing Shannon. In 2013 she appears in Season 6 of Californication. She plays Faith as a groupie as well as a model for actors. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is younger in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as an early teenager, when she appeared in small parts in a few films directed from her father. In addition, she was a part of her brother in the 2001 popular film Donnie Darko. She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) and in the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which resulted in a Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. As an unmarried mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she appeared in dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). The other roles she's played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The Kindergarten Teacher. In 2021 Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directed debut in the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she received The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
